Missional Field Notes

Quotes, Examples, and Ideas from My Missional Frontier

If I had found the following from Graceway before this past Sunday’s sermon, it would have made it in. As we move our congregation towards some missional community during the Lenten season, we talked of our calling to bless others. After all, we are “blessed to be a blessing.” That’s our goal, then, blessing others.

Genesis 12 sets God’s mission throughout history. The earth’s families are separated by language due to sin in Genesis 11. Immediately, God ramps up his mission to redeem by choosing Abram. God will bless Abram to become a great people, but the purpose (12:3) is to bless all the families of the earth (Mat 28:18). Truth: we are blessed to be a blessing.

Thank you, Jeff Adams, for these good words. What’s so great here is that he puts it in the context of the sin of Genesis 11.

Cool, huh?
