    In some environmental class, I learned to look for wildlife “at the edges” – where a meadow meets the forest, where the sand meets the sea, etc. This reminded me of that – we need to search our “margins”, the edges

        Great point, Betsy. One of my teachers in this missional stuff, Elaine Heath, talked about the various ways Jesus reached out to persons at the margins and talked exactly about what you were talking about… the margins of sea and sand, etc… where there is transitional space that is full of life and opportunity and diversity. The problem for the church is that margins provide challenge as well.
